Description
The ED844 is a large wooden fish shaped guiro. Complete with a wooden scrapper, this guiro gives you a 7" ribbed playing area with two underside finger holes to help you hold this noisy yet rhythmic instrument.
The Guiro is a Latin-American percussion instrument which first appeared several hundred years ago.
It is played by dragging the pua (playing stick) along the fluted shell which creates the familiar ratchet-like sound. The guiro are played similar to the maracas and are usually accompanied by a singer.
