Description
The Gibson P-94 is a humbucker-sized, P-90 single-coil pickup designed to fit into standard humbucker slots without guitar routing or modifications. It uses Alnico V magnets and vintage enamel-coated wire to deliver a hot, biting P-90 sound with enhanced sustain and midrange growl.
The P-94 offers a tonal middle-ground between a typical Stratocaster-style single-coil and a traditional PAF humbucker. It pushes amplifiers into a rich overdrive more easily than standard single-coils, yielding fat lows, snarling mids, and sparkling highs.
Gibson introduced the P-94 to bridge the gap between classic single-coil bite and humbucker-equipped guitars. It allows players to achieve the rich, soulful tone of a traditional P-90 without permanently altering their instruments.
