Dario’s musical journey started at the age of 9, beginning private tuition on the piano accordion. A love of music led to exploring several other instruments until finding the saxophone, way back in 1988. Since then, Dario has added the clarinet, bass-clarinet, and flute to his performance and teaching repertoire.

Dario’s academic music education started at NMIT, completing an Advance Diploma of Music Performance. Since then, Dario has undertaken a Bachelor of Music with Honours & Master of Arts in music composition research, both from Monash University. In 2006 he also completed a Graduate Diploma of Education in music from the University of Melbourne.

Dario has taught music privately in both Australia and Canada and have held instrumental teaching positions at several schools in Melbourne, including, Brighton Beach, Hampton, Malvern East, and Kensington Primary Schools. He has also performed and recorded with numerous bands over the years, with compositions having been performed by a variety of ensembles such as the RMIT Concert Band and the Arko Ensemble, and in theatres such as La Mama’s, and the Red Stitch Theatre.

Dario’s approach to instrumental teaching is student focused. Where lessons are designed around individual student’s needs and interests, in a safe and supportive environment.
