Description

It’s “Tele-bration” Time!
Fender released the Telecaster in 1951 and changed the world of guitars forever. Fast-forward to 2011 and the Fender team designed and manufactured twelve, special models as part of a “Tele-bration” of the Tele’s 60th year. These models offer the finest and most unusual takes on the instrument's past, present and future, whilst remaining within the bounds of the anatomy that is responsible for one of the most revolutionary instruments of all time.

One such example is this very special “Lamboo” model. In terms of its specification, this guitar is rock-solid without bending too many rules; 9.5” maple fingerboard meets a modern C-shaped maple neck, bolted to a string though, alder body with vintage 3-saddle bridge.

Why does it not look like a typical alder body, you may ask? Well, the alder provides a stable core, which has been laminated on the top and back with bamboo - yes, BAMBOO! Sustainable, lightweight and just plain “cool”, the laminated bamboo (“Lamboo”) offers some extra, glassy presence and a head-turning aesthetic. Added to the tortoiseshell pickguard, matching binding (top and back) and an engraved, 60th Anniversary neck plate, this rare Tele exudes class like few others.

“Under the hood” we have a Fender USA Hot Tele neck pickup and a non-factory DiMarzio DP389 Tone Zone T in the bridge position (original bridge pickup not supplied). These are wired to Fender’s famous Greasebucket tone circuit for greater sonic versatility.

Some dark marks are also observable near the lower strap pin. Cosmetically, there is a small chip on the lower bout aside the output socket, among some general play wear all around. There is visible oxidation on the bridge plate and some of the pickguard screws (saddle grubs are clean). Switch tip and strap pins are also non-original. Truss rod is sound, and frets have approx. 60-70% life remaining. Original SKB case is not suppliable but case options can be discussed.
